Although facet is considered to be equivalent to ommatidium in the fly_anatomy.obo (HAO uses it as cross ref: One of the facets of the compound eye.) facet is considered in many other references (e.g. Gibson et al. 1998, Gullan and Cranston 2005.....) to be equivalent to the lens on the surface of an ommatidium.
